Fellow Patriots:

The Dallas County Republican Party has called for a rally in response to Barack Obama's visit to Dallas next week:

President Barack Obama is coming to Texas to raise money for the Democratic Party in Dallas on Monday, August 9th. Join fellow conservatives at the same time as we show our love of freedom and prosperity at a family rally in Goar Park.

WHEN:
Monday, August 9th, 5:00 p.m.
Rain or shine

WHERE:
Goar Park
University Park, Texas

This is clearly a Republican event, but it is also an opportunity to make our voices heard on the Administration's agenda.

So, here's the question: shall we encourage our members to attend this event?  Please share your thoughts below.  Thank you.

I think Obama crap will all be well coordinated and protesters not allowed or given the short sheet. I say NO.
by oscar aguayo  2010-08-03 20:42:28
yes we will go and protest everything he stans for !
by  Katrina Pierson  2010-08-03 20:43:21
YES YES YES!
by Lana  2010-08-03 20:53:08
Absolutely!
by Diane Nusbaum  2010-08-03 21:01:44
yes! We need to be out there in the front continuing to wake up the rest of America.
by  Nancy Fischer  2010-08-03 21:08:04
YES! There needs to be a crowd so large that the news media can't ignore us - it won't just be "The Great Obama is welcomed by all in Dallas!"
by Ellen  2010-08-03 21:08:14
Yes we should rally. lets not lose our fire and spirit for the cause. If we would'nt rally against the one whos adm. is attempting to bring our country down, why would we rally at all.
by Steve  2010-08-04 14:48:53
Unfortunately, Ellen, you could have half the state of Texas show up and the news media would ignore the fact, unless, maybe, FOX News.
by  Linda Adair  2010-08-03 21:12:05
Yes, we need to protest his whole agenda.
by Lisa C  2010-08-03 21:18:09
I'll be in AZ, vacation at the Grand Canyon this year to show my support .. wish I was leaving Tuesday now. At least let member know about it. I think a great big Texas greeting would be great. Deny the media their love fest and have enough real Americans out there that they will be seen and heard!!
by  dallasjarrod  2010-08-03 21:33:09
No. The Tea Party should remain separate from the Republican Party. The media and bystanders already confuse us and think that the Tea Party is just a tool of the Republican Party. We don't need to give them more evidence of that assertion.

If we want to have a demonstration of our own, we should, but not with the Republican Party.

The information has already been sent to my zip code anyway. Any member of the Tea Party who wants to identify with the Republican Party should already be on their mailing list.
by Julia Manginen  2010-08-03 21:36:43
Personally I want that imposter to RESIGN! Yes, protest!
by JayTea  2010-08-04 10:28:58
Let's not be so hostile to the Republican Party. We need to get into the Party and move it toward our conservative principles. The media will not know who in the crowd is with the Republican Party, the Tea Party or both.
by Mary B  2010-08-03 21:37:54
Absolutely we should protest "Don't Mess With Texas"!
by Donna Albritton  2010-08-03 21:42:24
Goar park should be ONLY ONE of many places we should be. Our goal should be to have Tea Party signs visible in every scene that Obama surveys and the media takes photos of. Can we arrange that or is it too hard to do? can we gety his itenerary and place people?

Everything we do should express what we stand FOR, stated positively - our 3 main principles, etc. -- nothing negative like Obama painted as the Joker. Don't feed that racist hysteria, but let them know that there aren't any (socialist) SHEEP in the West, starting right here in Dallas!
by  anonymous (BFE)  2010-08-04 19:20:05
USING OUR TAX DOLLARS IN A SLOW ECONOMY TO JET ABOUT THE COUNTRY FOR THE DEMOCRATIC CAMPAIGN NON-STOP IS NOT VERY PRESIDENTIAL...LET THE TEA PARTY SPEAK. THOUGH YOU CAN BE SURE THE TRIP IS ALREADY FULLY CHOREOGRAPHED FOR MAXIMUM PR...
by Reidschool  2010-08-03 21:44:57
He's still our president and as such, he deserves some respect. I would encourage a DTP presence if he were promoting yet another offensive bill. I don't know that we need to protest his mere presence in our town.
by Doug  2010-08-04 03:31:59
W H A T the HELL !!!!!!!!!!! come on I thought intelligent people are realizing he's illegal, even in AZ too, there's so much proof of his illegal status it's not funny. It just shows how much power he wrongfully has. God man, do you keep up with tha news ??? Everything about this wimp is questionable, that's why he wants to shut down the internet, duh. It's a little more serious than what you know..........
by JH  2010-08-04 13:01:49
Careful; if we can%u2019t respect the president regardless of whom or what he is, even a president that we despise, then we cannot expect other to respect the office of the president.
As far as his legality, my family has been in this country longer than can be traced. We helped settle everything from Missouri to Montana and California. However, my cousins were born overseas because my uncle was stationed in a foreign country while serving in the military. Are they now prohibited from running for president?
Based on everything that I have read and seen, as well as the comments of the first lady (http://www.wnd.com/?pageId=136769) , I do believe that Barack was born in Kenya; however, his mother was the daughter of a U.S. army sergeant. He has clear and undeniable familial ties to this country. As such, I cannot morally claim him to be less of a citizen than the rest of us without also claiming that members of my own family are less of a citizen than the rest of us.

absolutely protest, make sure to wear your Tea Party gear and signs and we just might just outnumber the Republicans and make it look like a Tea Party event with a couple Republicans tagging along.
by Daniel Washington  2010-08-03 22:48:12
He is in the office illegally, how dare you say he is still our Pres.He is not our Pres.he is a Marxist and a con artist. He deserves to be in Leavenworth Fed.Prison not the White House
by Doug  2010-08-04 03:34:11
More power to you Daniel. Well at least 2 of us know this...
by Julie D McCarty  2010-08-03 22:11:03
I say yes we should attend. It is in line with what/who we are and what we stand for. I would say the same if it was a Democrat rally. We can't help it that we are so similar in belief to Republicans. I don't think we should shy away from common events just to prove we aren't Republicans.
by Sylvia  2010-08-03 22:26:50
YES!!! We may be placed out of viewing range of I intend to have a gigantic LIAR ! sign.
by Todd Johnston  2010-08-03 22:30:27
Stop helping the MSM have ammo to say the Tea Party is strictly a Republican movement. Don't participate in this. Hold an independent Tea Party Protest else where, and protest both Obama's policies, and him taking a hiatus to raise campaign funds, when he should be tackling important issues like immigration and border security.

Pastor Stephen Broden is having an event that same day from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.in a park in the Turtle Creek area.
by Gail Spurlock  2010-08-03 22:45:43
Yes, we should protest at every possible turn.
by Yolanda Junkin  2010-08-03 22:52:00
I was planning on protesting anyway and joing fellow conservatives in Goar Park works for me.
by Beverly helix  2010-08-03 22:54:05
I want to be there. Think it will be more of a "we don't like whats going on" statement, esp. since we will be in Austin also.
by Rosanne manner  2010-08-03 23:00:37
Yes, protest. The policies that obama will be representing are not welcomed in texas. That message must be sent especially since he will be on our turf. Shall we be silent? Shall we ignore this man that is stealing our freedoms? No, no! We must be seen & Heard!
by Pamela Moore  2010-08-03 23:22:33
"United we Stand." Just as we have given support for Arizona, why wouldn't we give support for any group expounding the same principles we exound? Our message of restoration of constitutional principles and republican government transcends all pary boundaries. If Dems can't see that, it makes no difference what we do regarding them. Yes,we should encourage our people to attend all events that promote our similar values and that protest socialistic progressivim.
by  Pam  2010-08-03 23:29:32
I think we should all join together - the more numbers, the better and louder the message. We are united with the Republicans in that we want Obama out. And our signs and flags will let people know who we are.
by Don Aspromonte  2010-08-03 23:33:31
Yes. It will be a good time to make sure Republicans understand the values of the Tea Party. Our signs will let them know what we stand for. We will be able to assess the level of Conservatism in the Republicans who are willing to show up for this protest. Let's meet and greet and educate when necessary.
by Cindy Hyltin  2010-08-03 23:39:57
YES!! Break all records. There's strength in numbers to protest against the worst President ever. Let's celebrate the freedom we have to protest.
by  Tea Party Ted  2010-08-03 23:42:04
We need to let him know we don't like his agenda.
by jill wilson  2010-08-03 23:43:07
No, we need to be seperate from republican party.
by Lisa  2010-08-03 23:48:35
YES! We can be respectful to the office and still make our point. I agree - no Hitler mustache signs, no Joker signs, etc. This isn't about us, it's about our country. THAT'S where the respect comes in...
by Cari   2010-08-04 00:04:40
I remember right after Obama was sworn in, just a few weeks after his inauguration, he went to Mesa, Arizona and there were protesters all along the road to the school he was visiting. And I remember how thrilled, proud, and inspired I was to hear about it! YES!!! Let's protest! Let's stay inspired and inspire others, too!
by  CathyMeyer  2010-08-04 00:33:32
Yes. WE can differentiate ourselves by wearing Tea Party shirts and keeping our signs typical Tea Party messages. We are not campaigning or endorsing candidates. We have -- in this case -- the same or similar purposes as the Republicans. Tea Party members can be encouraged, but full disclosure to our membership that this was instigated by the Republicans seems appropriate.
by Ellen Lopez  2010-08-04 00:35:16
We should be there.
by Dale Massey  2010-08-04 00:39:01
I believe republicans should go to the event if they choose to. If we want to setup a separate Tea Party event then we should do so. We should in no way violate our party neutral status and join this as a Tea Party event.
by Doc  2010-08-04 01:37:50
I think we should have a protest, yes. A quiet one, just signs. I would add that signs that say, "Shame on you President Obama" would be appropriate.
by Douglas King  2010-08-04 03:24:21
Well well so the chief wimp is coming to town. What shall we do ???
If the cops bug us can we ask for his LEGAL birth certificate ??? Just kidding ya'll. I will be there.Ya'll gonna tell us any more info or is this all we need to know ????
by doug  2010-08-04 03:46:45
yall stop fighting. This plays right into this wimpy maniac's game. GO GO GO-get out of your bird cage. Yall will regret it.If something goes down really bad cause we didn't rise up can you sleep at night ???
by Andrew Piziali  2010-08-04 07:28:15
No. Obama and his ilk know we are protesting him, his ideology and his actions. The time spent at this proposed rally would be better spent advancing our success in the fall elections.
by Dennis G. Scharp  2010-08-04 08:46:10
You bet you should join this rally. This may be your only chance to physically demonstrate your distain for this guys policies. It will probably make the national news. What better way of letting him know he is not welcome in the great state of Texas!!! If you are worried about your Tea Party affiliation with the GOP, don't wear your Tea Party Colors. This is a golden opportunity regardless of National coverage. Video tape it, put it on UTube and let it go viral.
by Jerry Redd  2010-08-04 08:58:36
protest.
by Leita  2010-08-04 10:07:37
I cannot stand to even listen to him on the news. I wish to high heaven he'd never even been born.
by Gene Lipnicky  2010-08-04 10:20:04
YES! By attending, we're not endorsing a party, we're objecting
to a very dangerous man. Don't let fear silence us.
by JayTea  2010-08-04 10:25:35
Yes, we need to be there in full force. The crowd needs to be HUGE!!
by KWTX  2010-08-04 10:44:47
It would be nice to be a presence showing support for state sovereignty against his efforts to push statist control...I'm afraid I'm unable to join the group.
by Jeff  2010-08-04 11:01:01
Is this the same event as the Stephen Broden event? He is holding some kind of event in a park in the uptown area on monday at 5 pm. All of you should go to his event - he is a local businessman and pastor who is running for the Tx-30 house seat as the republican candidate and has recieved no support from the GOP establishment.
by Deborah TeSelle  2010-08-05 04:07:49
YES! YES! YES! Obama really doesn't care if there's
a protest rally. But, we can make a difference by supporting a great constitutional conservative candidate right here in Dallas. Help raise enthusiasm for this wonderful man with your cheers, money, and time!
by Virginia Plekenpol  2010-08-04 11:13:15
Why not - power in numbers and blow off a little steam. Sadly he will be rerouted to not have to see us peasants.
by Allen Luna  2010-08-04 11:20:34
I will be there. The Tea Party is a force that I am pleased join to fight back against the liberals trying to destroy our country. Obama and his band of Czars and Ried and Pelosi do not represent America and neither does the main stream media. We have to continue to get our message out that we want to turn our country back to the principals that have made it great. We are the greatest country in the world and blessed by God and with his help and the dedication of citizens in the Republican Party and the Tea Party we can defeat the progressive liberals in 2010 and 2012.
by  CathyMeyer  2010-08-04 11:49:37
For those concerned about what the media will do to spin this...

The media will ALWAYS spin conservatives as the lunatic fringe no matter what we do or say. I think that the Republicans in Washington fall into this -- which causes them to turn into RINOs -- and we fight against the RINO stuff all the time.

The media do all this to try and regulate our behavior and response. If we always consider what they will spin with what we choose to do, then we will be handcuffed into doing nothing -- just like the RINOs -- so as not to offend.

We are offensive to them and I'm okay with that. We offend them because we tell the truth -- not because we are actually offensive. They don't scare me and they won't regulate my choices and my behavior. I will not act like a lunatic or a racist, but I will speak and show up to functions that the Tea Party decides to attend.

YES

wish we could do it in sight of his limo though
by JH  2010-08-04 12:39:13
I think that the real question is whether the Tea party can both organize everything by Monday and get approval from the city by Monday. We're not likely to get approval from the city by Monday: so, why not co-op the republican protest? Heck, why not co-op the democrat fundraiser if we can?
I should be clear. We shouldn't be rude or disruptive, but if an event is free and open to the public I say we take whatever chance we can voice our opinion. I say this for two reasons. First, a since of community is very important to any endeavor and this will provide us with an opportunity to get together and remind ourselves that we are not alone. Second, visibility is how you build a community.
Finally, I don%u2019t think that we should boycott the democratic or the republican party because the Tea Party movement is supposed to be about the welfare of our country, not political agendas.
by Ray Myers Kaufman County Tea Party  2010-08-04 12:40:48
Damn Right we should Protest!
He has destroyed the lives of Millions of Americans. Don" Mess with Texas!
by Tony Eldridge  2010-08-04 13:24:05
I think it would be a great thing to stage a separate protest from the GOP. My wife will be on bed rest from a surgery, so it will be iffy whether I could be there on the 9th.
by Marty Pearson  2010-08-04 13:28:13
Absolutely--ditto to everyone who believes we need to do everything possible to preserve our crumbling constitution!!!
by Steve Neuner  2010-08-04 14:46:30
I think we should encourage, but clearly state that this is a Republican event and not a "true Tea Party Event".
by Mark S.  2010-08-04 16:48:54
Yes. In conjunction with a RINO safari. Keep the sham (wow) limited government types on their toes.
by Mary Cason  2010-08-04 16:54:38
I believe that we by the right of freedom have the right to go and hold a peaceful rally to send the message that we love our state of Tx. and we do not want his change here never. Yes, we should have a peaceful rally!
by Denise  2010-08-04 17:19:32
Of course we should go. It's still a FREE nation right? So we should be able to show our force in wanting obmama out! Soon we won't have the freedom to protest.
by Dixie Oxendine  2010-08-04 18:51:30
Yes, we should let our disappointment in our president be known, respectfully. although he is disrespectfully taking away our freedoms, jobs, and everything America stands for.
by Cody Baker  2010-08-04 17:41:42
YES! Not only should we co-opt the Republican protest, we should co-opt the Republican party and make them the party they once were!

We should keep our eyes peeled for Bush and Cheney while we're there, although I doubt the Texas GOP invited them.
by Mimi  2010-08-04 18:40:52
Let the entire membership know that this event is happening. Each of us is capable of deciding whether or not to participate. I'll be there.
by Jan Shedd  2010-08-04 19:37:47
We need to get loud! Barak Obama needs to know he is not welcome in Dallas! If it was Bush, the nuts would be out there howling like rabid dogs. Conservatives have sat on their hands for TOO long, and look where we are. We have to do something and NOW!
by James E Swirczynski  2010-08-05 00:35:08
I say yes we must show up and let him see or at least hear how unhappy and disgusted we are at his polcies and his arrogance !!
by Deborah TeSelle  2010-08-05 03:55:08
Everyone should attend simply to support Stephen Broden running against self-declared socialist, Eddie Bernice Johnson in Dallas' own disctrict 30. This is a real opportunity to effect change at the national level.

Of course, you'll have to ignore that rule about not supporting rallies where candidates are speaking...
by  dea46  2010-08-05 08:57:03
Defininately.
by Maxine Barnes  2010-08-05 10:42:35
Yes we need to let Obama know we are tired of the mess he has made.
by Joyce  2010-08-05 22:17:00
Yes! Who cares how the media spins things? Just be lawful and not racist. People can judge for themselves if people are behaving when they see the tape. Just don't be caught on camera doing ugly. When people see a large and passionate group of people protesting, it influences and inspires them. The world needs to see how many people feel about what Obama is doing. Who cares if we are with Republicans? Wear Tea Party attire--maybe that will confuse the media. Uh, can we be both? Or can both join together to protest? How about a sign that says "joining the Republicans to protest Obama?"
by Ashley Cunningham  2010-08-08 02:44:39
Yes I think we should go and keep showing that no matter how much they want to slander us as racist with no validity, or whatever else the grassroots movement is not going away and we are going to make ourselves heard
